How far can my Non-Insurance-Driven System take your practice?

In the 35 years I’ve been helping private dental practices become Non-Insurance-Driven, most of my clients have been in solo practice with one or two full time hygienists.

With my System and protocols in place, I’ve seen that a 3-operatory general dental practice with one dentist and one hygienist can easily produce and collect $75,000 and upwards per month, and a 4-chair practice, $90,000 or more. Having another chair and a second hygienist raises that potential to a minimum of $105,000 per month.

These numbers can usually be reached within a few months of starting to implement the components of a Non-Insurance-Driven Practice, without adding more operatories or providers, and while still maintaining a regular 4-day a week schedule.

Many of my clients have been satisfied to achieve these levels and sustain them for the long term.

I’ve also helped numerous dentists start new practices from scratch.

These have done particularly well with my System, one for one achieving a “million-dollar practice” within their first 10-12 months.

A few of my clients have used my System to grow even further.

Dr. I. was collecting $15,000 a month in his 4-chair practice and on the verge of getting in network with several low-paying insurance plans when we first spoke. After coaching him and his team on my System, new patients rapidly increased, and as they shifted their focus to Non-Insurance-Driven, they found that their patients shifted too. Monthly collections grew to over $100,000 within the year. A few years later, with collections over $150,000 a month and 3 more operatories in progress, Dr. I. hired me again to coach his new associate and additional team members on my System. In 4 months, they surpassed $250,000 per month in collections, and 8 months after that, over $350,000.

Dr. M. was already at over a million in production and collections annually in his 6-chair practice but knew they could do better. He wanted to bring in an associate, but they lacked the structure needed to grow and he was already spending too much of his own time on administrative functions instead of delivering dentistry. They also needed a better and steadier flow of new patients. When we started implementing my System, I discovered he had a great team; they were just lacking a few necessary protocols. Within 6 weeks new patient flow increased by 50%, production and collections immediately followed, and a few months later I helped him interview and bring on board an associate whom I also coached on my System. Production and collections grew to well over $300,000 a month, the Associate eventually became a partner and within a few short years was able to buy the practice from Dr. M. (he’s now happily retired and “living the dream” – his words).

Dr. J. felt his new associate could benefit from coaching on my Non-Insurance-Driven System. In less than 3 months, his associate’s production skyrocketed from the low $40,000s to over $100,000 per month with his patients now focusing on their oral health and accepting and paying for needed care, instead of just what their insurance would cover.

After a year-and-a-half in practice, Dr. R. was still struggling to reach $20,000 in production and collections in his small 3-chair practice. His friends were telling him to “give it time” but he didn’t see how just waiting was going to change anything, so he reached out to me for help. After he and his team worked with me to transform his practice to Non-Insurance-Driven, within a year they were steadily collecting over $80,000 per month, had outgrown their facility, and had started building a brand new, larger office nearby.
